A跟B的when开头的部分，when到底在修饰什么？这么里没有一个时间可以让when去做修饰，那么也就是说，when在这里要做一个状语来修饰一个动作，而下面的句子当中，只有系动词is，when修饰is，不合理。其实这句话想要表达的意思就是“对于global manager来说，了解cultural norms跟grasping the pivotal business issues 一样很重要”。按照这个思路去找答案，E首先就要排除，因为那个find是改变了语义的，原句中想要表达的并不是“找到对cultural norms的一个理解很重要”而是 “了解cultural norms"这件事情很重要，重点在于understanding。剩下C和D，an understanding of cultural norms& understanding cultural norms的区别一目了然。我认为在当一个人问你”do you have an understanding of the book?"的时候，问的是你对于这本书有没有一个理解（这个理解可以说是你自己的理解）。而当别人问你“do you understand this book?"的时候，是在问你，你读得懂这个书吗？或者是你理解这本书的意思吗？这道题本身是在着重understanding才符合逻辑，因为一个global manager对于当地的文化有没有自己的理解，并不会对生意有什么帮助，而是要了解当地文化才能对做生意有帮助。这样更符合逻辑。所以我选了C。

E的逻辑错，global manager发现两者同等重要并不是正确的逻辑表达，正确的逻辑意思更多是陈述这样一个发现，而不是发现这样一个动作

亲，Ving sth(sth 无论是单数还是复数)，主语一律是 Ving，即单数。同理的还有to do sth,谓语也应该跟单数。

A.介词句首，这个省略了“主语be”，应该与后面主句主语一致，显然understanding不符逻辑 B.they没有指代对象，指不上manager（单数） C.对 D.important to them 指代混乱 E.as用错，应用to表目的
